Meet our Therapists
Hello! I am so glad that you are checking out this page and meeting us!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida, license MT3283. I've been in Jacksonville, Florida for 15 years. My husband of 22 years and I are raising our two sons in this amazing, family-oriented city. We spend our weekends at various sporting events and enjoying the city with family and friends. I started Jacksonville Counseling Services in 2015 and we have grown to 5 therapists! I hope this page helps you get to know us.
Prior to my voyage into marriage and family therapy, I spent 15 years in church ministry with children, adolescents and their families. It is my love of all different types of families that led me to pursue my masters degree to be able to help families in various ways. I have a keen interest in the health of the couple and I utilize Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. This drives my work in marriage preparation, couples in crisis, and couples in transition. I also love working with children, adolescents, and parents as they navigate the unique cultural landscape of our modern world, as well as their own families and communities.
I believe that we have been given a great potential for growth. We often we need someone trained to walk alongside of us and encourage us around, over and through the roadblocks to change. There are many evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy that foster change, personal growth, and freedom for individuals, couples and families. We can discuss the approach that is right for you.
My faith has been a the source of direction and peace in my life. I believe that Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father, a task that we cannot do for ourselves. When welcomed by my clients, I love to share the Lord's Word for us and incorporate biblical principles into the therapy process. For many of my clients, faith provides great strength, direction and peace. However, it is certainly not required for receiving excellent care with me.
I welcome feedback and direction as we begin your journey. It is important to me that you find a good fit in therapy. And if I am not that correct fit, I am happy to help you connect to other excellent professionals in our community. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have regarding my services or the process of counseling in general.
Hope to see you soon!
Hi, my name is Sara Allen and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, license number 19266, in the state of Florida. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida, I worked as a teacher in early education. A strong desire to further support children and their families with additional social, behavioral and emotional challenges further led me to seek and obtain my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
My approach to counseling is client-centered, utilizing informed research-based methods that are developmentally appropriate for the individual and their desired outcomes. My goal is to offer a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore, grow and learn, as they move towards greater clarity and connection in their lives and relationships.
I recognize the brokenness in this world and believe that one of the greatest gifts therapy can provide is renewed hope. My Christian faith affirms that Jesus is at the center of God’s great story of redemption and salvation. I believe that we are able to draw truth and wisdom from God’s word, and at the request of the client would be happy to integrate a Biblical worldview during sessions.

Hello and welcome! I am so excited that you are here. My name is Garlyn Lawrence and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida, license IMH 20240. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Liberty University and my master’s degree in professional Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
Prior to my experience as a counselor, I have worked with children with disabilities in the school setting and had the opportunity to volunteer in the juvenile jail center. I have learned that everyone you meet has a unique story that matters. My passion as a counselor is to hear your story, walk with you through your pain, and to help bring about hope, healing, and personal growth. Some of the techniques that I often utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Talk-Therapy.
As I love working with individuals, I also have a heart for couples and pre-marital counseling with a deep desire to help find the strengths in your relationship and learn how to use them in a way that brings healing and a deeper understanding of one another.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the ultimate counselor and comforter. So, with the permission of the client, I enjoy incorporating the truth of His word, and encouraging you through His unconditional love for you. If you have any further questions regarding my services, I would love to answer those for you. I can be reached at email@example.com.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with focus in pediatric mental health from the University of North Florida. While in graduate school, I interned at a local inpatient crisis hospital as well as a pediatric outpatient mental health clinic. I also have experience working as a therapist in community mental health as well as school based mental health. After working as a therapist for several years I took my desire to blend my faith, leadership, and mental health interests and worked in church ministry for over 2 years as a Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries with a local church. My strong sense of purpose and passion to help individuals be their authentic selves and live more meaningful lives are what motivates my love for this profession.
Each person has the power for growth within them they may just need a guide to help them work through it. I approach the therapeutic relationship through a person-centered lens. My hope is that I provide my clients with a safe and supportive space free of judgement to explore thoughts, feelings, patterns, and behaviors to promote greater self-awareness and overall well-being. Your viewpoint of the world is important to me and by approaching each other with mutual understanding and compassion growth can happen. I take an integrative approach and adapt traditional (talk therapy, CBT) and non-traditional (experiential, play/art techniques) evidence-based techniques that are unique and collaborative to fit the client’s developmental needs and desired goals. I acknowledge that therapy is a piece of your greater picture, and I am passionate about looking at each person holistically by acknowledging the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of your lives as well.
My faith in Jesus Christ is a huge part of my life. I believe that Jesus is the almighty counselor, hope restorer, and comforter for our lives. Through the unconditional love that God has given me my hope is that in turn I can show this to others. I believe in the power of redemption and that God can take some of our most challenging and difficult circumstances and create the most beautiful and growth filled people for his kingdom and in our Earthly world. At the request of my clients, I am glad to incorporate a biblical worldview by bringing these principles into the therapy process.

Hi, my name is Tesa Saulmon and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, license number MH22565, in the state of Florida. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida, I attended Liberty University to obtain my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Throughout my life, I have experienced trauma. In my darkest days, I couldn't find purpose in life. Why would all this happen to me? I pondered on this idea for years while attending therapy myself. My A-HA moment was when I found a passion for helping others in their healing journey.
My approach to counseling is client-centered. My experience led me to primarily work with individuals who struggle with addiction and individuals who are wanting to work through their past traumas to live the life they deserve. My goal is to offer a safe and compassionate setting where individuals can start their healing through curiosity, development, and learning, as they discover the life they want is tangible.
At the request of the client, I would be happy to integrate a Christian worldview during sessions. My Christian faith has given me hope when it seemed nothing in my life could get better. I believe that Jesus has paid the ultimate price for us, and we are shown compassion, understanding, and forgiveness through God’s word. I believe God is the best counselor we have and by allowing him to guide us as we unravel hurt pain and loss, we will be given the light to lead us out of the tunnel.
