This workshop is based on the books Hold Me Tight and Created for Connection: The Hold Me Tight Guide for Christian Couples, both by Dr. Sue Johnson.
The 2-day intensive workshop is created for couples struggling with communication, intimacy and security. This Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) workshop is held in the Jacksonville area to help couples heal broken bonds and rekindle the spark that brought them together. Hold Me Tight will help you and your partner feel safe, secure and connected by enabling you to:
- Understand the real reasons you get into struggles over and over
- Change patterns that leave you frustrated, angry and hurting
- Engage in conversations leaving your love alive and secure.
The weekend will be broad enough for couples who want to incorporate their Christian faith, as well as those who do not. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a well-known humanistic approach to psychotherapy formulated in the 1980’s and developed in tandem with the science of adult attachment, a profound developmental theory of personality and intimate relationships. This science has expanded our understanding of individual dysfunction and health as well as the nature of love relationships and family bonds. The approach has many intersections with biblical teaching on the nature of relationships. Couples will be able to apply both empirical research and their own Christian teachings in this intensive.
You and your partner will be guided through facilitated conversations, video presentations, guided exercises and “one-on-one” discussions, to help you reconnect and transform your relationship.
