Hi, my name is Rachel Cossio! I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida, number IMH25510. I completed my B.A. in Psychology at the University of North Florida and my M.A. in Counseling at the University of Central Florida.

I hope you feel emboldened as you take these steps toward getting professional support! Counseling is a collaborative process that can produce understanding, hope, healing, and growth. I have a variety of experiences in working with a broad variety of clients from people who simply want someone to talk with to people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. In my practice I use an eclectic group of techniques to tailor to what you need as a client. The approaches I primarily use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. While there are many different theories and techniques within counseling, one thing that consistently stands out in effective counseling is the unique relationship between the counselor and client. Ultimately, I strive to create an environment in which you feel safe and supported yet challenged to grow. 

As humans we long for peace in our lives. I believe Jesus Christ is the person in whom true peace is found. Jesus is also the Perfect Counselor, and with your permission I would love to incorporate Him and a Biblical worldview in the counseling process.
