Becky Lee,
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Hello! I'm Becky Lee, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern under the supervision of Rebecca Maxwell.

My heart has always been in serving others, and I'm grateful to be following that calling in the counseling field.

A little about me — my husband and I have a wonderful daughter who fills our days with joy and adventure. Originally from Michigan, I've called Jacksonville home for over a decade, and we absolutely love being part of this community!

My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Church Ministry and Leadership from Trinity Christian College, as well as a Master's in Education for School Counseling. Although I didn't pursue a school-based counseling role, I spent over 12 years in human resources, where I developed a deep appreciation for walking alongside people through challenges and transitions. That journey reignited my passion for mental health, where I feel truly called to serve.

In counseling, I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and somatic therapy — always tailored to the individual. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach for processing trauma and reducing the distress tied to painful experiences. For clients who desire it, I integrate listening prayer into the EMDR process — creating space to invite God's presence into the healing work. In those moments of open processing, clients are gently invited to ask what God might want them to know, and what emerges is often profound: truth spoken into the very places where wounds have lived. It's one of the most sacred aspects of the work I do.

I also offer listening prayer as a standalone therapeutic tool. Rooted in the belief that God speaks personally and tenderly into our pain, listening prayer creates space to slow down, quiet the noise, and open your heart to what He might want you to know. It's a gentle, guided experience — not a formula — and for many clients it has become one of the most transformative parts of their healing journey.

As an EMDRIA-certified therapist, I also offer EMDR intensives — extended, focused sessions designed for those who want to go deeper in their healing work in a more concentrated period of time.

I primarily work with adults and teens, and have experience supporting those navigating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and eating disorders. My heart is for those who feel unsettled — helping them move toward healing, freedom, and restoration in a space filled with grace and understanding.

I firmly believe God is our true source of comfort, peace, and rest. For clients who desire it, I am happy to integrate faith-based counseling by bringing the love and truth of Jesus into the therapeutic process — but that is always up to you. Regardless of your beliefs or background, my commitment is to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care tailored to your unique needs.

I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey of growth and healing!
