Kaitlyn Nott
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Nott, and I am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in the state of Florida. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University, where I developed a passion for supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families as they navigate life's challenges.
My desire to become a therapist grew from my experiences working with children in foster care, education, and ministry settings. Through these roles, I have seen the impact that safe and supportive relationships can have on a person's life. I believe every individual deserves to feel known, valued, and understood.
Before entering the counseling field, I worked in foster care, early childhood education, and now serve as a Director of Children's Ministry. In this role, I have the privilege of partnering with children and families as they grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. These experiences strengthened my understanding of human development across the lifespan and deepened my belief that every person has a unique story that deserves to be heard.
My primary clinical experience includes working with children and adolescents at Daniel Kids' Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP), where I provided individual and group therapy while supporting youth experiencing trauma, emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, and a variety of mental health needs. While much of my clinical training has focused on children and adolescents, I also enjoy working with adults and strive to provide a compassionate, supportive environment where clients of all ages can work toward healing and growth.
My approach to therapy is centered on compassion, connection, and meeting each client where they are. I utilize evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual's unique needs and developmental stage, including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), strengths-based approaches, and play therapy techniques when appropriate. I believe healing begins within a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to share their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop practical tools for lasting change.
I believe every person is created in the image of God and carries inherent value, purpose, and worth. While we live in a broken world, I also believe we are surrounded by the hope, grace, and redemption found through Jesus Christ. At the request of clients and families, I am honored to incorporate a biblical worldview into therapy while creating a space where every person feels respected, supported, and cared
for regardless of where they are in their journey.
My hope is to walk alongside children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they navigate life's challenges, discover their strengths, and find hope and healing.
